LEEANNE HENDERSON

Leeanne loves to teach, whether it's in a fitness setting or in school. This Can Fit Pro certified trainer has been honing her craft for 20 years and brings this enthusiasm and expertise to her clients. A competitive bodybuilder, Leeanne enjoys competing on stage as well as helping others train and prepare for the competitive experience.

She also has an extensive Muay Thai / Kickboxing background having been trained by a Master for 10 years. She offers one on one training and hosts her popular Klondike Kickboxing class.

AMANDA WHYMARK

Born and raised on a farm in the Yukon, Amanda Whymark is a certified Personal Trainer with CanFitPro and a Group Fitness Instructor with American Council of Exercise. 

Amanda’s own journey with fitness began when she discovered exercise was directly tied to her physical and mental wellbeing. She cites improvements in her overall wellbeing by working out and being mindful of the foods she consumes. Amanda is passionate about working out in an “all natural” way. Her focus is on functional fitness which also highlights one’s physique.

ROSS NESBITT

This Pre-Script Level 2 coach and CanFitpro certified training specialist has lived in Whitehorse for over 12 years. One day Ross decided that he wanted to share his love of fitness, his successes and even his failures in fitness as a blueprint to help others.  When Ross isn't in the gym, he is either spending time with his family or outside walking his lovable Mastiff-Pitbull, Paddington. Ross is eager to pass on his knowledge and experience to help you achieve your best self!

SHAWNA KOSTELNIK

Shawna is a Canfit Pro Personal Training Specialist, who is originally from Whitehorse. She left to Victoria for high school, which is where she fell in love with fitness and weight lifting. When Shawna isn't in the gym, she's enjoying all the Yukon has to offer, paddle boarding, running with her dog, or camping with her big family. KAYLA MINTZ

Kayla is from Little Salmon Carmacks First Nation and a member of the Wolf clan. In addition to her training certification Kayla also holds a certificate in Northern Justice and Criminology and High-Risk kids. She has a long history of working with Indigenous people and strives to be a role model, inspiration and mentor. Kayla and her business, Mintz Condition, focuses on (but not limited to) teaching indigenous populations healthy healing methods through physical fitness. She loves fitness, sports, music and practicing her traditional culture.

Roshan is an ISSA certified personal trainer and comes to us from Kerala India.  His enthusiasm and love of fitness is apparent, as is his eagerness to help others achieve their fitness goals

VANESSA INNES

Specialties: Body Composition Testing, Nutritional Coaching

I’m Vanessa and I love flavors, foods, and phytonutrients. I studied nutrition and behaviour change coaching to finally get myself cued up after decades of large financial contributions to the self-help book industry. I reached 209 lbs on my 5’3” frame by my 50th. I enjoyed wine and cheese and felt awful.  

With weight training and a full handle on nutrition, you can be at your best.  At 65 yrs, 70 lbs lighter and deadlifting 209 lbs., I can confirm that age is just a number.  I’d love to help you get it back too.

MELINA MARCHAND

My name is Melina and I have been a personal trainer since 2016. I recently moved to Whitehorse from Ottawa in the fall. I am passionate about helping clients achieve their fitness goals through personalized exercise programs and hands on coaching.  I have worked with a diverse range of clients of all ages, from beginners to advanced, and have helped them achieve weight loss, improve strength and endurance, resulting in a better overall health. 

 

My expertise lies in strength training, functional movement, and corrective exercise. I believe in using a holistic approach to fitness, incorporating not just exercise, but also proper nutrition, stress management, and sleep hygiene. I am a fulltime ultrasound technologist. In my spare time, I enjoy working out, cooking, being outside, and spending time with family and friends.

MELISSA HALE

Melissa started her fitness journey back in 2018 and never looked back! She quickly became a staple at Better Bodies attending weight lifting sessions with her own trainer, joining the kickboxing and early morning groups, along with workouts by herself and with friends (she loved the atmosphere so much she eventually became a part time front desk staff member). When Melissa decided to leave her 20+ year career with the Yukon Government it was a natural transition for her to become a trainer.

 

Melissa enjoys helping others, she creates a pleasant, flexible and accepting environment. Her natural curiosity about people and what motivates them, along with her drive to perform well makes her a great fit as a personal training specialist. Melissa will provide realistic, practical, matter of fact training that is geared specifically towards her clients’ needs.

JAMES ALBERT

This ex military certified trainer has been in and around gyms since the age of seven. His relentless pursuit of fitness translated into helping others as a personal trainer.

As a former strength and conditioning coach for Ontario jr hockey and currently a level two kickboxing coach, James is ready to help you achieve all your fitness goals.
